SOCIAL DISTRESS : Helplessness is my bane


The penultimate paragraph of Rediff's article "Mumbai's unlikely terrorist" reaffirms my oft-repeated belief that hatred will continue to breed hatred.
Hanif's accomplice in crime, Arshad, similarly told police that at the time of the 2002 Gujarat riots, he was in Surat. "Apna matha fir gaya, atyachar dekh kar (My head turned, on seeing the atrocities), he told the police.
But will someone explain this to the common man who will get into that vicious circle?
Do you have a solution for spreading the word?
