Discussions over Tea (Of course, cutting maar ke)

Wednesday, May 14, 2003
How many times have you heard an Indian put on an accent when speaking to a foreigner? And how many times have you heard a foreigner trying to adapt to an Indian accent?
How many people have you heard of who've tried to disguise the fact that they're an Indian in a foreign land?
How many people are proud of where our country is doing now?
How many people are proud of what Vajpayee is doing for peace in the region?
How many people are proud and remember the thousands of soldiers who have died protecting the countries borders? You read about every Jessica Lynch, every single POW or soldier in the American press. Do you know anything about your own armed forces?
What was the last thing you did for your own country?
Are you proud of the advances India has made in the past 10 years or are you secretly ashamed of it's people?
When was the last time you said "I'm proud to be an Indian"?
Where's the patriotism?
Where's that lump in your throat?
